Listed are a few exercises you can use to calm your anxious thoughts.

  1. STOP, take a few deep breaths and acknowledge the concern.

  2. Ask yourself “Am I safe?”. If yes, continue with the next steps. If not, get to safety immediately, call 911 for medical or 311 for mental health emergencies.

  3. Ask yourself “What can I control?” and assess. You may want to control everything, but the reality is we can only control very little in life. Do what you can and acknowledge your doing your best.

  4. A few other options are listening to music, stretching, contacting supports and scheduling a session if needed.
